The Second Successful Sinclair Soccer Summit

The Sinclair Soccer Summit is about so much more than the game. It’s a day of empowerment, connection, and conversations about the tools sport gives young athletes to thrive on the field and far beyond it.

Young girls aged 13-16, from across BC, came together for a day that began with an on-field session, followed by an empowerment workshop, and culminated with a discussion with female trailblazers focusing on leadership, the beautiful game and life skills.

BC Soccer is proud to support the second annual Sinclair Soccer Summer and contribute to a positive and meaningful experience for young girls in soccer.

Alongside experienced coaches, seven young coaches were recruited to help lead the technical side of the Summit. This mix of coaches created a supportive learning environment where new coaches received hands-on mentorship and experienced coaches felt more impowered to take on leadership roles.

The Summit is an opportunity for coaches to complete their Soccer for Life training, which expands the pool of qualified coaches in BC. Working alongside a group of female coaches, volunteers, and young female players made for an impactful and uplifting experience.

Christine Sinclair laced up her boots and jumped in parts of the activities, as well as three Vancouver Rise players who shared their experiences and helped inspire the participants. Their presence brought an additional layer of excitement and empowerment for the girls attending. Which ultimately created a very positive and energizing event.

Participation was strong, and Abbotsford Soccer Association played an important role by working closely with The Christine Sinclair Foundation and BC Soccer to provide coaches, volunteers, and equipment. Their support helped ensure the event ran smoothly and contributed to the overall success of the Summit.
