Vancouver has been named the host city of the 76th FIFA Congress on April 30, 2026.
"It is with great pleasure that we welcome FIFA to the vibrant city of Vancouver for the FIFA 76th Congress. Vancouver, known for its stunning landscapes and diverse culture, provides the perfect backdrop to celebrate the spirit of unity, collaboration and the beautiful game that brings us all together. Canada Soccer looks forward to hosting the 76th FIFA Congress and World Cup in 2026! Welcome to Canada, where everyone is welcome!”
Peter Augruso, President of Canada Soccer
The FIFA Congress is the supreme legislative body of FIFA. An ordinary congress meets every year and the members of FIFA can propose candidates for the right to host a World Cup and even a new President of FIFA.
The FIFA Congress will bring representatives of all 211 members of the world governing body of soccer to Canada ahead of the World Cup. Delegates from each country, representatives from FIFA’s six confederations, media and stakeholders will be among those making the trip to Vancouver for next year’s event. Held since 1904, this will be only the second time the Congress will be held in Canada, having previously been held in Montréal in 1976.
