Vancouver Whitecaps FC
We are very pleased to have a great relationship with BC Soccer, and to be working together to grow the game in our home province,” said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC Chief Executive Officer. “There is momentum for soccer in Canada as we head towards 2026. We are excited to work alongside BC Soccer to push the game forward. We are looking forward to combining our resources to maximize opportunities in the sport for British Columbians.”
The collaboration extends to technical workshops, with BC Soccer supporting the facilitation of Vancouver Whitecaps FC technical workshops to BCSPL clubs and Skills License designated clubs, bi-annually. In return, Whitecaps FC will also provide technical workshops to BCSPL clubs and Skills License clubs on a bi-annual basis. Moreover, Whitecaps FC will offer technical workshops to BC Soccer Provincial Program staff, thus aligning technical programming, curriculum, session methodology, coaching methodology, and player profiling.
“Formalizing our partnership solidifies the commitment between BC Soccer and the Vancouver Whitecaps to better support development and talent identification across BC. Our staff will continue to closely collaborate to create more opportunities and improvement across our development programs." BC Soccer’s Chief Executive Officer, Gabriel Assis stated.
To further support player development, BC Soccer will conduct a ‘Soccer for Life’ coaching course for players in the Whitecaps FC Girls Elite Academy and Boys MLS Academy on an annual basis, certifying academy players for work in grassroots programming.
